Darren holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting), is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand and has completed specialist qualifications in self-managed superannuation funds.

Darren’s philosophy is to listen to the client’s issues. Just like going to a doctor, Darren knows we need to understand your business and its problems and challenges before we can prescribe the best solutions. His favourite part about his work is being able to use his skills to make a difference in the lives of his clients. He describes himself as growth focused, ambitious and driven, so it is fair to say he is the guy you want on your side!

Outside of work, Darren loves golf, AFL, motorsports, waterskiing and travel. He is currently the Board Chair of St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School after serving 9 years as Treasurer and has been involved with a variety of boards and committees of local community organisations. Darren is also a keen follower of the property market, an interest that enables him to provide valuable guidance to clients with their investments in this sector.

Tracey is passionate about both superannuation and estate planning, seeing it as key to fulfilling retirement and life goals.  Tracey’s focus is to establish the pathway to achieving a clients estate planning wish list and ultimately provide peace of mind.  A comprehensive estate plan protects your assets and provides for family in the event of incapacitation or death.

Our approach to estate planning also ensures that ‘estate’ and ‘non-estate’ assets (including superannuation, life insurance, jointly owned assets and assets owned in a trust or companies) are carefully planned and documented.  All this goes a long way in achieving peace of mind that, upon passing, clients may continue to look after the people who matter most.

Outside of work, Vanessa enjoys live theatre, singing in a choir, and volunteering as Treasurer for the Mirboo North RSL. She’s learning Nu Vogue dancing, loves camping with friends, good food, and a drink by the fire. She’s also a proud mum of two adult children.

JOHN WALKER

Having lived and worked in the area his entire life John is a familiar face to many people. When meeting with clients his first-hand experience of working in local industry for over 3 decades is often a valuable asset (to use an accounting term!)

John enjoys horse races, fishing, and hunting, and his weekend “hobby” in the warmer months is cooking for groups on horseback tours in the local mountains.  His experience with horse races also provides good training in calculation and treatment of losses.

Moving from Melbourne to Longford in 2007, her many interests include birdwatching and associated travel and photography, community activities, craft and beekeeping. Heather just loves living in and exploring Gippsland.

Shahzeb is one of our talented tax professionals who completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree at Griffith University in Brisbane before relocating to Traralgon in 2018 and going on to become a Chartered Accountant.

Over the years Shahzeb has developed an impressive skill set that allows him to help clients navigate complex tax regulations. He is passionate about solving problems, finding innovative solutions and providing exceptional customer service to each and every client.

When Shahzeb is not working, he can often be found on the tennis courts competing in local tournaments in Traralgon. He also enjoys travelling overseas every year to visit family and friends.

Colleen is a proud Yarram local who has a passion for agriculture and accounting. She has a rich background in the financial industry, with over 35 years of experience in various roles. She is a qualified accountant and a certified bookkeeper, with expertise in Xero and Xero Payroll.

Colleen enjoys working with numbers and helping her clients achieve their goals and comply with their obligations. She is a valued member of the Agri Team, where she applies her knowledge and skills to support the farming community.

Colleen also runs a small beef farm, following her childhood on a dairy farm. She loves the rural lifestyle and the connection with nature. In her spare time, she likes to spend quality time with her family and grandchildren, tend to her garden, travel around the country and pursue her bucket list dreams.

Originally hailing from Melbourne, Kate pursued her studies at La Trobe University in Bundoora, earning degrees in Agricultural Science and Commerce with a major in Accounting.

Kate joined Phillipsons to leverage both of her degrees while contributing to a collaborative team environment. She finds great fulfillment in being part of her clients’ journeys and witnessing their successes.

Highly motivated and organised, Kate has a strong interest in financial accounting and is eager to develop her skills in management accounting.

Her primary focus is on dairy farming, although she also has a background in wool and prime lamb enterprises. Overall, Kate enjoys exploring all facets of the agricultural industry, including unique areas like camel dairies.

In her free time, Kate loves horseback riding in the bush, nurturing her vegetable garden, and caring for her diverse array of animals, which includes alpacas, geese, chickens, dogs and horses.

Away from the office Taylah is heavily involved in the Maffra Football Netball Club where she plays, umpires and coaches.

Outside of work, Charlie is a devoted dog lover and rarely goes anywhere without his furry companions. He’s also one of Australia’s biggest NFL fans, enjoys staying fit at the gym, and makes the most of his downtime with activities that keep him active and engaged.

Liam joined Phillipsons in June 2025 as Advisor Support. He is currently completing a Bachelor of Business (Finance), with graduation expected in November, and plans to pursue further postgraduate studies to expand his expertise in financial planning.

Prior to joining Phillipsons, Liam gained valuable experience in paraplanning and completed a financial advisory internship, which helped build a strong foundation in client service and financial strategy.

Liam enjoys the relationship-building aspect of his role, especially the opportunity to work closely with clients and support them in achieving their financial goals.

Outside of work, he’s passionate about local soccer, snowboarding, travelling, and spending time with friends.

Kelly brings years of experience in running her own farm to the team and together with the accounting career she started after leaving school is a valuable combination.

Many businesses have to meet demands day to day and being organised and on top of the bookwork is the key – this is Kelly’s goal.

Felicity has a wealth of experience, with over 30 years working as a bookkeeper. Having grown up in a Timber Industry Family, originally working for her father’s business as his office manager.

Felicity is appreciated for her attention to detail. She understands the value of timely reporting and prides herself on maintaining the highest levels of accuracy, process and client delivery. She has always loved the opportunities bookkeeping has provided in working with a lot of different industries and a variety of people.

Outside the office Felicity is kept busy with her children’s many sporting activities and says she is most happy just home spending time with her family.

Selena joined our team at Phillipson’s in 2009, after working in the accounting industry since 2003.  Selena has a Certificate IV in Financial Services and Certificate III in Business Administration.

With a strong motivation to getting clients organised, extensive knowledge and experience, her business plan is tailored to our clients individual needs for their business..  Selena has experience in a number of bookkeeping programs including Reckon, MYOB, QBO, Xero, Banklink and Cashflow Manager.

KYLIE STANLAKE

Kylie is a proud Gippsland local with over 16 years of experience in bookkeeping and client services. She is a valued member of the bookkeeping team at Phillipsons, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a strong client-first approach to her role.

She works closely with business clients and sole traders, with a particular passion for helping them thrive using Xero’s modern accounting technology. Kylie has built lasting relationships with her clients, who value her friendly nature and dependable guidance.

Kylie is a dedicated and reliable team member who consistently goes above and beyond to assist both our clients and colleagues—making her a truly valued part of Phillipsons.

Outside of work, Kylie loves a variety of crafts and basketball where she is both a coach and a referee!

Jane joined Phillipsons in 2022 and has worked in the finance industry for over 30 years.

Jane’s experience in banking, cash logistics, corporate finance, courier service and the gaming/entertainment industry, gives her a great understanding and knowledge to work with a variety of business clients.  In particular Jane loves helping clients solve their reconciliation issues.

Away from work Jane relishes opportunities to connect with family, swimming and has a knack for finding great bargains at Op Shops.

With a Diploma in Accounting and a diverse background in the rail sector and public practice, Helen is a valued contributor to our team.

She is passionate about bookkeeping and enjoys supporting our clients with their accounting needs and challenges. Helen joined Phillipson in 2023 after relocating from NSW to VIC.

KATE LAMB

Bookkeeper

Kate has been a farmer for almost 30 years, specializing in dairy for 25 years and switching to beef for the last three. She has acquired a lot of knowledge and skills from the agricultural sector and the local businesses that support it.

Kate is currently studying for a Cert IV in Bookkeeping and is passionate about helping clients with their data entry needs. She has a professional and reliable work ethic and strives to deliver high-quality results.

Outside of the office Kate is an active member of the Heyfield Football-Netball club and enjoys participating in Campdrafting, a sport that involves herding cattle on horseback, with her family.

TANJA CHRISTENSEN

Tanja has worked in the accounting industry for more than 20 years. Progressing through the ranks over the years from Receptionist right through to Practice Manager.

This experience has provided Tanja with a deep knowledge and appreciation of what it takes to be successful in business and also great understanding of client needs.

Tanja enjoys being an integral part of a successful business and finds it extremely rewarding knowing you are providing your clients with a value-added, stress free experience.

For Tanja becoming a professional bookkeeper for Phillipsons has seemed like a natural progression, giving her the opportunity to put all of the knowledge and skills gained over the years into practice in order to continue helping local businesses achieve their goals.

Having grown up on a farm, Tanja was fortunate to be able to nurture her love of animals and nature. Her favourite pastime is spending time with their 2 Maremmas (dogs) and family of Magpies that come for a nightly visit.

COURTNEY McDONALD

Courtney has seamlessly integrated into the Phillipsons team, thriving on collaboration to meet clients’ unique financial needs. She loves finding solutions and assisting with bookkeeping challenges.

Her background in the dairy industry, combined with a Certificate III in Agriculture and Dairy Production and an aptitude for numbers, paved the way for her successful transition to bookkeeping. Courtney’s analytical skills and passion for helping others make her a dedicated bookkeeper, committed to positively impacting her clients’ financial lives.

Outside of work, Courtney is the secretary of the Gippsland Deer Stalker Association and enjoys hunting, camping, and fishing. She also plays for the Latrobe Valley hockey team, traveling to Melbourne for matches.

This rewarding experience gave her a deep understanding of business operations and management. During this time, she also worked for a Big 4 bank, sparking her interest in the finance sector. Balancing these roles allowed her to develop a unique skill set that combines practical business knowledge with financial expertise.

Now a dedicated bookkeeper at Phillipsons, Fiona’s extensive experience in the financial sector has led her to a new and exciting area that she thoroughly enjoys. She finds great satisfaction in helping others navigate financial challenges, an area many find difficult. Her background equips her with the tools and knowledge to provide valuable assistance and support to those in need.

When she’s not working, Fiona loves spending time in her garden, pottering around and enjoying the simple pleasure of smelling the roses.

MATTHEW LOVELACE

Bookkeeper

Matthew joined Phillipsons in April 2025 as a Bookkeeper, bringing a diverse background across distribution management, plumbing supplies, and remote bookkeeping for a tool and industrial supply business. Prior to that, he spent eight years in the hydraulic engineering and supply field, developing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Currently undertaking a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping and Accounting, Matthew enjoys the investigative side of his role—identifying issues within client files, understanding why they’ve occurred, and finding effective solutions.

Outside of work, Matthew is a dedicated volunteer with the Sale Fire Brigade and an active member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club, helping organise community events like the annual Sale Toy Run. He also enjoys riding his motorbike, working on home renovations, and spending time with his children.

Andrea Killeen

Bookkeeper

With a background in dairy farming, beef production and board governance, Andrea brings valuable expertise to our BetterBooks team. She has served on the boards of Southern Rural Water, GippsDairy and the Macalister Demonstration Farm.

In her spare time Andrea is a passionate traveller who enjoys exploring new places.

LINDA LOVE

Portfolio Administrator

Linda completed her Diploma of Financial Planning 2002 and Diploma of Financial Planning RG146 with Deakin University.

Linda has been in the industry for over 20 years, with financial planning studies along the way. She enjoys helping clients understand and get the most from their investments.

As our Portfolio Administration Manager, Linda uses the latest Administration & Reporting software to deliver our clients an investment administration service that is meaningful and cost-effective.

Linda reconciles our portfolios constantly to ensure transactions, cash account movements and processes have been implemented and recorded accurately and ready for quarterly reporting.

Outside of work, Linda’s main love is spending precious and priceless time with all of her children and grandchildren.

SANDRA HOWARD

Reception – Sale / Client Service Support

Sandra has been the smiling face of Phillipsons since 2005. Having worked in customer service roles before, Sandra loves meeting our clients and assisting them with their needs either by phone or in person.

When not at work, Sandra enjoys spending time with her family, and just relaxing.

Administration & Reception Support

Lucy joined Phillipsons in 2025, bringing with her a solid background in administration and accounts. Currently working in Administration and Reception support, Lucy plays a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and delivering a welcoming experience for clients and visitors.

She thrives on the variety of tasks her role presents and finds great satisfaction in overcoming challenges and completing complex assignments. Her approachable nature and commitment to teamwork make her a valued member of the Phillipsons team.

Outside the office, Lucy enjoys expressing her creativity through baking, crafts, and fashion. Her colleagues can attest to her talent in the kitchen—her beautifully made slices and cakes are a regular treat in the office.

FIONA JAZOWNIK

With more than 30 years of senior and executive administration experience, Fiona brings a wealth of expertise to her role as Service Manager of the Agri Team. Over the course of her career, she has held positions including Area Manager, Team Leader, and Executive Assistant, where she developed strong skills in planning, time management, and organisation.

Fiona is highly skilled in analysing information with precision and prioritising administrative tasks around clearly defined outcomes. She ensures responsibilities are managed in alignment with those objectives, delivering efficiency, accuracy, and professionalism across her team and within Phillipsons as a whole.

Outside of work, Fiona values time with her family and friends, which remain her greatest passions.

KATHY STEPHENSON

Kathy joined Phillipsons in July 2023 and plays a key role as Service Manager within the Business Solutions Team. She brings over 30 years of broad experience across the banking, legal, and education sectors, combining deep administrative expertise with a strong commitment to client service.

Her career has included a wide range of responsibilities, from frontline customer service and branch management to administrative leadership and executive support. Prior to joining Phillipsons, Kathy spent several years managing administration in a primary school setting, further enhancing her skills in coordination, communication, and team support.

At Phillipsons, Kathy is a key point of contact for clients, assisting with queries and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience. She provides essential support to the Business Solutions team and across the wider office.

Kathy enjoys helping clients find tailored solutions and appreciates the variety her role offers. She values working alongside supportive and professional colleagues who bring both expertise and a sense of fun to the workplace.

Outside of work, Kathy enjoys spending time at the beach, camping, and connecting with family and friends.

Renee is kept busy providing administration support to the Superannuation team.  In particular Renee assists preparing tax reports, collating client information, lodgements and a variety of client paperwork.

Renee enjoys interacting with clients and gets a great deal of satisfaction providing them with excellent and efficient service.

EMILY ING

Service Manager – SMSF (Traralgon)

Emily, is professional, organised and always smiling – you could not ask for anything more as part of our team. She is always friendly and ensures our clients’ needs are addressed.

When we asked her what she liked about her work, she mentioned the diversity. “Every day is different and has different challenges.”

In her work with our business and SMSF clients, she often sees challenges pop up. Helping clients through those roadblocks to get the right outcome gives Emily great satisfaction. Emily recognises that delivering that quality of work builds a client’s faith in us, so they know we can deal with whatever challenges are put in our way.

Emily loves to spend her free time camping, 4WDriving, bushwalking and being outdoors with family and friends.

Jaime joined our team in 2020, bringing extensive customer service experience. She is valued for her positive attitude, friendly nature, and genuine enthusiasm.

She enjoys the variety her role brings each day and is often the first point of contact for both new and existing clients. Jaime values the opportunity to assist others, apply her strong problem-solving skills, and deliver the ultimate client service.

Jaime enjoys time on the weekends to catch up with friends and family, especially her nieces and nephews, and taking time to relax and unwind with a good book.

Tania joined Phillipsons in 2017 and assists with implementation of recommendations made by advisers and helps clients with administration and record keeping of their funds.

In her spare time Tania enjoys watching her kids play sports and seeing them do well. She also enjoys keeping up to date with the lastest and greatest shows on Netflix.

Charlene has a passion for creating great customer service experiences with a friendly and caring approach. She provides vital administration support to all areas of the office and is greatly appreciated for her organisational skills and attention to detail, that comes from over 20 years’ experience in administration and office management.

On weekends Charlene enjoys hanging out with the family and her dogs and dreaming of future travel adventures.

BRIDGET CORCORAN

Bridget joined our team in 2022, bringing extensive experience across retail management, administration, and advertising.

As part of the Financial Planning team, she provides client service support, assisting with the day-to-day administration of client portfolios, coordinating documentation, and supporting ongoing reviews and service needs. Her organised approach helps ensure processes run smoothly and clients feel well supported.

Bridget enjoys exploring Gippsland’s local markets and values the sense of community they offer. Outside of work, she keeps busy with family life but still makes time for her creative pursuits and enjoys unwinding in her garden, reconnecting with nature.

Donna joined Phillipsons in 2021 after working in the livestock and real estate sector for over 30 years. She has a wealth of experience in office administration and customer service.

Donna enjoys the variety her role provides and is kept busy by supporting all teams across the office.

Donna has lived in Sale all of her life. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, walking and catching up with her family.

Simon joined Phillipsons in 2022 part time, with a Bachelors Degree in Management/Computers and a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.

Simon enjoys helping the team with their busy day-to-day activities. With a passion for problem solving and a logical approach, Simon takes challenges in his stride.

Away from the office Simon enjoys all aspects of basketball, having umpired and played at a high level, as well as coaching juniors.  These days Simon is busy taking and watching his 3 sons play basketball for Sale.

Susan is keenly involved in our social activities and outside of the office she enjoys lawn bowls, cruising the high seas, cycling and spending quality time with her family.

Tackling the marketing needs for the office, event management and supporting the Directors with business development is all in a day’s work for Michelle.

Michelle enjoys the creative challenges her role provides and brings enthusiasm and drive to everything she does.

Outside the office Michelle enjoys getting away with her family and equestrian pursuits when time allows.

KYLIE BAXTER

Kylie is a highly motivated, enthusiastic and approachable Senior Human Resources Professional with consulting experience across a broad range of industries including: construction and engineering, health, local government, FMCG, retail, education, transport, oil and gas, automotive, telecommunication and printing industries.

Kylie has excellent people skills and can relate to people from all organisational levels and diverse backgrounds. Her strong leadership skills, excellent facilitation, coaching and problem solving skills combine well with her all round natural and warm consultative style. With a high level of emotional intelligence, Kylie enjoys effectively engaging with and developing trusted working relationships with her colleagues and various client groups. This is often whilst dealing with the challenges of sensitive people issues in highly charged, emotional and challenging work environments.

TONY GERMAINE

IT Manager

Tony joined the Phillipsons team in 2022 after spending the previous 10 years working as a Specialist Technician in schools across the Gippsland region. Prior to this, Tony provided IT solutions and support to the business sector for over 10 years in the Gippsland region.

As IT manager for Phillipsons, Tony supports the day to day operation of our IT infrastructure, Cyber security and development of solutions for our staff and clients.

Outside of work, Tony enjoys spending time with his family caravaning and spending time on the water.
